For the millions of people on a gluten-free diet who also attend church on Sunday, taking communion can be a stressful experience as eating the sacramental bread could make them very sick.

However churches nationwide are moving towards accommodating gluten-free diets by offering gluten-free bread or a gluten-free wafer in place of the traditional version.

There are still issues however in more traditional sects of the religion. There is hope though as a group of nuns has been tasked with looking for answers to the gluten-free question.
